Canadian Patent Plaques
Canadian patent plaques exactly reproduce the front page of the Canadian patent as issued by the Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO). A decorative double-line border is added around the patent reproduction. Details include the patent number and issue date, the names of the inventors, and the patent owner if the patent is assigned. In addition to the patent title, there is also an abstract of the invention and a drawing if drawings are part of the patent.
Canadian patent plaques are available in four sizes (6"X8", 9"X12", 10.5"X13" and 12"X15"), three bases (solid walnut, high gloss cherry and high gloss onyx), and two metal plate colors (gold and silver). Optional trim (border) plates in black and maroon are available for the 9"X12", 10.5"X13", and 12"X15" plaques. All plaque bases are drilled for wall mounting or can be mounted on a plaque stand.
Canadian patent applications filed since October 1, 1989, are open to public inspection. The patent applications are laid open for public inspection (published) on the earliest of the following dates: 18 months from its Canadian filing date or 18 months from its priority date (if it has one). The format of the published application is very similar to the format of the issued patent. If you are interested in a plaque for a published application, just use the publication number instead of a patent number.
